NEW AGE THEATER COMPANY
New Age Theater Company consists of a 10-member ensemble, a four-piece band and a technical crew of four people. Artistic
director and founder Rodney Lewis wrote, produced and directed the award-winning productions: "A Piece of My Soul ... The
Anthology of Gospel" and "From Grassroots to Glory ... The Anthology Part II". Each piece was nominated for BEST
PRODUCTION in Chicago, and "From Grassroots to Glory" won BEST PRODUCTION at the Black Theater Alliance Awards (BTAA).
The two works chronicle the history of African Americans from slavery through the new millennium. From the Civil Rights
movement to the burned churches in the South, the plays offer a historically vibrant look at these points in history. Both
productions go on to demonstrate the exuberant celebration of the victories that arose from these struggles.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The following two productions are available:
"A PIECE OF MY SOUL...The Anthology of Gospel," a compelling musical journey through time that is so powerful it rocks the very
foundation of the theater and transports the audience back into a revival.
The production has toured 25 cities domestically and also has toured in
Europe. This musical anthology was the runner up for BEST PRODUCTION in 1999 at the BTAA Awards in Chicago.
"FROM GRASSROOTS TO GLORY... The Anthology Part II," part two of
our on-going tribute to gospel music. This production was the year 2000 winner of BEST PRODUCTION at the BTAA Awards in Chicago. The
play has received unparalleled critical acclaim and the spiritual content
is nothing short of miraculous!
